Business Intelligence

We strongly believe that sometimes “what you do not know hurts you”. Though most organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa either private or public are not data rich (data centric) and the few ones that are i.e. banks, telecommunications, oil and gas, manufacturing, utilities, public healthcare are overwhelmed with data.  In this silos of data are hidden ‘treasures’ that can provide new insights to these organisations.

Our ability to provide an end-to-end BI solution and using our iterative process ensures that it becomes a strategic enabler for your organisation.

Collection

Collection specifies how to go about acquiring customers needs; it entails much more than simple administrative duties. It requires analytics skills to evaluate how well the user has expressed the needs and if existing collection assets can be used or new information collection is required and also to ensure the collected information reaches the analyst in useable format.

It is expected that all stakeholders in the project to be involved in formulating collection requirements. The management of collection requirements are managed by a group of specialists acting as liaisons between users and collections resources and this group comprises of both data owners and our consultants.

Exploitation & Analysis

Exploitation & Analysis involves various types of collected information or data with close examination of related items of information to determine the extent to which they confirm, contradict each other, and thus establish probabilities, relationship, and conclusion.

Our analyst using their knowledge of regional and global trends to asses the quality of all types of information gathered, organise it into a responsive, and useful intelligent product.

The aim of the analysis is to reveal to a specific decision maker the underlying significance of selected target information. In times, intelligence analysis is estimating one possible outcome given many possibilities in a particular scenario.

Reporting

Reporting can be described as the visual presentation of the intelligence derived. It ensures that values derived from intelligence reaches the prospective user timely in form that allows the user to understand and explore the intelligence.

The business environment today is extraordinarily dynamic, therefore making result and intelligence time sensitive and most actionable intelligence are perishable, though it can as well serve as historical information too. The bottom line, then, is expedited production and dissemination for action. We appreciate the ever evolving world of intelligence and can help your organisation present the values derived from your intelligence process in good digestible visual format.

Our business intelligence process does not end with delivering the product to customer. Instead, it continues with dialogue between producer and user. For the product to be useful, dissemination involves feedback from end-users. We like to refer to this as ‘collaboration’ between us ‘producers’ and our customers ‘end-users’ as these feedbacks lets us know what is relevant or not relevant to meet intelligence requirements. We then modify our practices to further develop those activities that served the user well, improve or eliminate those that did not.
